The medication for bloating helps reduce swelling, remove gas, and relieve abdominal discomfort.
Simethicone
Digestive process disorders, improper diet, food with bloating properties, and also swallowing air often lead to abdominal distension (bloating). This makes it difficult or completely impossible for the normal absorption of gases through the intestinal wall.Gas accumulation in the gastrointestinal tract occurs in the form of a viscous, small-bubbled foam. The active substance in Antiflat – Simethicone – causes the foam to break down. This allows the intestinal gases to escape naturally. The active substance is not absorbed into the bloodstream and is excreted from the body unchanged.Taking Antiflat usually leads to a rapid disappearance of discomfort, a feeling of relief, and eliminates the feeling of tension in the bloated abdomen. Also, heart attacks caused by diaphragm displacement (the so-called Roemheld syndrome) disappear after a short time.
Antiflat is used in adults, adolescents, and children over 2 years of age:
For the sensation of excessive gas formation and accumulation in the gastrointestinal area (meteorism), such as bloating, feeling of fullness, and feeling of tension in the upper abdomen, which may be caused by swallowing air, improper diet, or dieting.
During gas formation after surgery, and also in Roemheld syndrome.
Preparation for diagnostic examinations of the abdomen to reduce gas shadows (ultrasound examination, X-ray).
Approved for use in children and adolescents aged 2 years and above.
For children under 2 years of age, administration in the form of a suspension is recommended. Antiflat drops are available for this purpose.
Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines. Although no interactions are known to date, the influence of Antiflat on other drugs cannot be excluded.
The influence of food or drink on the effect of Antiflat is not known.
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or are planning to become pregnant, seek advice from your doctor or pharmacist. Since Simethicone is not absorbed by the body, Antiflat may be prescribed during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Antiflat does not affect the ability to drive vehicles or operate machinery.
Always take the medicine exactly according to the instructions or as directed by your doctor. If you are unsure about the dosage, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
For the treatment of gas and bloating sensation: Take 1 or 2 chewable tablets 3 times a day during or after meals. If necessary, 1 or 2 chewable tablets may also be taken before bedtime.
For preparation for a diagnostic examination of the abdomen: Adults take 2 or 3 chewable tablets the day before the examination, after every meal, and on the morning of the examination day.
The tablets must be chewed before swallowing.
The duration depends on the type and course of the symptoms. If necessary, Antiflat may be taken for a longer period. If symptoms persist or the expected result is not achieved, a doctor's consultation is necessary.
